Company intelligence / Profile preview
Geneservice was a prominent UK-based contract research organization (CRO) specializing in functional genomics and molecular biology services. Originally established as a core facility within the Medical Research Council (MRC), it was spun out as an independent company in 2005 via a management buyout led by Tom Weaver. The company provided a wide range of services, including DNA sequencing, genotyping, and microarray analysis, to academic, clinical, and pharmaceutical researchers. In 2006, Geneservice was acquired by Source BioScience, where its operations were integrated to form a major European genomics service provider. Today, its legacy continues through Source BioScience's integrated genomic and diagnostic service offerings.
