Overview

Assurex Health was the developer of GeneSight, a commercially available pharmacogenomic test that analyzes genetic variations to guide medication selection for psychiatric conditions. A study with 21,000 patients showed 39% relative reduction in psychiatric-related hospitalizations and 29% reduction in all-cause hospitalizations at 180 days post-test. The test also reduced patients prescribed medications with significant gene-drug interactions from 26.1% to 15.9%. The company was acquired by Myriad Genetics in 2016.
