GeneSpan Corporation was a biotechnology company specializing in the development of advanced cell culture systems and bioreactors for the life sciences industry. The company's flagship product, the Cell-Pharm system, utilized hollow-fiber technology to create a high-density environment for the expansion of human cells and the production of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies. These systems were designed to mimic physiological conditions, making them suitable for applications in gene therapy, cell therapy, and the development of bioartificial organs. Founded in 1992 and based in Bothell, Washington, GeneSpan was acquired by Unisyn Technologies in 1999, and its technology was later integrated into the Biovest International portfolio.
