Genesys Venture

Genesys Venture Inc. was a specialized life sciences venture capital firm and technology incubator based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Founded in 1998 by James Grundy, the firm focused on a "venture engineering" model, identifying high-potential academic research and providing the seed capital and executive management necessary to build standalone biotechnology companies. The firm was a cornerstone of the Western Canadian biotechnology cluster, fostering the development of companies in human diagnostics, agricultural biotechnology, and natural health products. Notable portfolio companies launched or supported by Genesys Venture include Phenomenome Discoveries, Performance Plants, and Philom Bios. Following the passing of its founder in 2021, the firm is no longer active in new company creation.
