GENimmune

GENimmune was a Belgian biotechnology company and a subsidiary of Innogenetics, specializing in the development of therapeutic vaccines and providing specialized bioanalytical services for clinical trials. The company's primary focus was on infectious diseases, most notably its E1-based therapeutic vaccine for Hepatitis C, which demonstrated the potential to induce immune responses in patients. GENimmune also operated as a Center of Excellence for immunology, offering expertise in immune monitoring and vaccine design to external partners. Following the acquisition of Innogenetics by Fujirebio in 2010, GENimmune's assets and service capabilities were largely absorbed into the parent organization. During its peak, the company was a key player in the Ghent biotech cluster, leveraging its proprietary recombinant protein technology.
