Company intelligence / Profile preview
GenMark Diagnostics developed multiplex molecular diagnostic platforms—most notably the ePlex system—for rapid syndromic testing of infectious diseases. Its systems provide broad pathogen coverage with high sensitivity/specificity using proprietary electrochemical DNA hybridization technology. The company’s panels are used clinically for respiratory pathogens and bloodstream infection identification with additional panels in development. In April 2021 it was acquired by Roche Holding AG and now operates as a subsidiary within the Roche Group. The core product line continues under the globally recognized cobas brand as of April 2024.
