Genophrenix

Genophrenix is a precision psychiatry company focused on developing novel treatments for schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric disorders. The company was founded by leading scientists from the Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) to translate large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data from human brain tissue into therapeutic breakthroughs. By leveraging the LIBD’s extensive "BrainSeq" dataset, Genophrenix identifies and validates targets with strong genetic links to disease pathology. Its platform integrates functional genomics with drug discovery to address the high unmet need in central nervous system disorders. The company was acquired by Karuna Therapeutics in early 2023 to expand Karuna's pipeline of neuropsychiatric drug candidates. These assets subsequently became part of Bristol Myers Squibb following its acquisition of Karuna in 2024.
