Company intelligence / Profile preview
GenStar Therapeutics was a U.S. biopharmaceutical company focused on gene therapy products for serious diseases, with research spanning hemophilia, cancer, and vaccine applications. The company developed viral gene delivery technologies, especially adenoviral and related vector systems, and pursued programs such as MaxAdFVIII for hemophilia A. GenStar was publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol GNT before combining with Vascular Genetics in 2003. Following that transaction, the GenStar corporate entity ceased operating independently and the business was folded into the successor organization Corautus, which shifted focus toward cardiovascular gene therapy.
