Company intelligence / Profile preview
Gensus is an Argentine agricultural biotechnology and seed company focused primarily on certified cotton seed and, more recently, sorghum seed. The company was formed in 2016 through the acquisition of Gen\u00e9tica Mandiy\u00fa and operates a seed processing plant in Avia Terai, Chaco, plus what it describes as Argentina's only private laboratory authorized by INASE for cotton seed analysis and processing. Gensus produces and commercializes legal, certified cotton seed, develops new cotton varieties through collaborations with INTA and other partners, and has expanded into biotechnology traits including a locally developed transgenic cotton event approved for commercialization in Argentina in 2025. The company also works with Bioheuris on gene-edited herbicide-resistant cotton. Gensus is therefore biotech-related, but in agricultural biotech rather than human health, pharma, or life sciences.
