Gentis

Gentis was a Belgian regenerative medicine company specializing in the development of biomimetic implants for spinal repair. The company's core technology, Gel-S, is an injectable hydrogel designed to treat degenerative disc disease by augmenting or replacing the nucleus pulposus. This minimally invasive approach aims to restore disc height and mechanical function, potentially delaying or preventing the need for more invasive surgical interventions. Founded as a spin-off from Ghent University and VIB, Gentis was acquired by the French medical technology company Graftys in 2012 to bolster its portfolio of bone and spinal repair products.
