Company intelligence / Profile preview
Genyous Biomed International was a San Diego-based biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of next-generation multi-target therapeutics for oncology. The company utilized a proprietary functional genomics platform to identify small molecules capable of simultaneously modulating multiple signaling pathways involved in tumor growth and survival. Its lead clinical candidate, G-100, was an orally available small molecule that reached Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. In June 2009, Genyous was acquired by NexMed, Inc. in an all-stock transaction, which integrated Genyous's oncology pipeline and management team into the combined entity. NexMed subsequently rebranded as Apricus Biosciences before eventually merging with Seelos Therapeutics.
