German Parkinson Study Group

The German Parkinson Study Group (GPSG) is a nationwide clinical research network dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Established in 1994 as a registered association, the GPSG coordinates multicenter clinical trials, observational studies, and scientific projects across more than 100 specialized centers in Germany. The organization provides a standardized infrastructure for both investigator-initiated trials and industry-sponsored research, collaborating with major pharmaceutical companies to evaluate novel therapeutic modalities. By bridging the gap between academic research and clinical practice, the GPSG plays a critical role in developing treatment guidelines and maintaining comprehensive patient registries. Its work encompasses a wide range of conditions, including Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
