GID BIO has completed enrollment in a pivotal Phase III, multi-site, double-blinded, randomized controlled trial using autologous stromal vascular fraction cells derived from adipose tissue to treat osteoarthritis of the knee. The company’s technology enables point-of-care extraction and processing of patient-derived cells with a single-use device. Previous Phase II trials showed significant improvements in pain, stiffness, and function with no serious adverse events. Additional pilot studies have been conducted or are ongoing in wound healing, fibrotic organ conditions, peripheral vascular disease, erectile dysfunction, and COPD. A second pivotal Phase III trial for knee osteoarthritis is planned.
