Glades General Hospital was a public medical facility located in Belle Glade, Florida, that served the residents of the western Palm Beach County region for over sixty years. Managed by the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, the hospital provided a range of services including emergency medicine, intensive care, and maternity services. It played a critical role as a safety-net hospital for the rural agricultural communities surrounding Lake Okeechobee. In October 2009, the hospital ceased operations and was replaced by the state-of-the-art Lakeside Medical Center. The transition aimed to provide the community with modernized medical technology and improved patient facilities.
