Company intelligence / Profile preview
Glades Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company primarily focused on the development and distribution of generic dermatological products. As the generic division of Stiefel Laboratories, the company offered a broad portfolio of topical treatments for skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and inflammatory dermatoses. Its product line included generic versions of widely used medications like tretinoin, clindamycin phosphate, and hydrocortisone. In 2009, Glades was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) as part of GSK's $2.9 billion acquisition of Stiefel Laboratories. Following the acquisition, Glades' operations and product portfolio were integrated into GSK’s global dermatology business unit. The company no longer operates as an independent entity, but its legacy products continue to be marketed under the GSK and Stiefel brands.
