Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center

The Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center (GCIC) is a premier cardiovascular-focused incubator and product development consortium headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Launched in 2007 through a $60 million grant from the Ohio Third Frontier program, the center is led by the Cleveland Clinic in partnership with leading academic and clinical institutions across Ohio. GCIC provides early-stage companies with specialized laboratory space, commercialization grants, and comprehensive business development support to accelerate the transition of cardiovascular technologies from the lab to the market. The center has supported over 50 technologies and numerous spinoff companies, including successful exits such as Cleveland HeartLab and CardioInsight. It remains a critical hub within the Cleveland Clinic Innovations ecosystem, fostering advancements in medical devices, diagnostics, and therapeutics.
