Global Food Safety Initiative

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is a global, industry-led initiative that provides leadership and guidance on food safety management systems necessary for safety throughout the supply chain. Managed by The Consumer Goods Forum, GFSI brings together key actors of the food industry to collaboratively drive continuous improvement in food safety management systems around the world. Its primary activity is the benchmarking of food safety certification programs against a set of requirements to ensure equivalence and trust in the supply chain. GFSI's work aims to reduce food safety risks, audit duplication, and costs while building consumer trust in the food they buy. It serves as a critical platform for collaboration between retailers, manufacturers, and food service companies.
