Global Viral is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and research institute focused on the study of infectious diseases and the prevention of pandemics. Founded by Dr. Nathan Wolfe, the organization specializes in viral discovery and the monitoring of zoonotic diseases that jump from animals to humans. Global Viral operates by establishing surveillance networks in biological hotspots to identify novel pathogens before they become global threats. The organization also spun off Metabiota, a commercial entity focused on epidemic risk analytics. Its work combines field epidemiology, molecular biology, and data science to safeguard global public health.
