GlucaPharm was an early-stage biotechnology company focused on developing stable, liquid formulations of glucagon for the treatment of severe hypoglycemia in patients with diabetes. The company's core innovation centered on its non-aqueous formulation technology, which addressed the inherent instability of glucagon in water, a major barrier to creating ready-to-use rescue treatments. GlucaPharm was acquired by Xeris Pharmaceuticals (now Xeris Biopharma), which successfully commercialized the technology as Gvoke, the first pre-filled, room-temperature stable liquid glucagon.
