Company intelligence / Profile preview
Goldline Laboratories was a prominent American generic pharmaceutical company that specialized in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of a broad range of generic prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Founded by Dr. Phillip Frost in the early 1970s, the company grew to become one of the largest generic drug distributors in the United States. The company played a significant role in the growth of the generic industry following the passage of the Hatch-Waxman Act in 1984. In 1991, it merged with IVAX Corporation, providing the foundation for IVAX's expansion into the global generic market. Following Teva Pharmaceutical Industries' acquisition of IVAX in 2006, Goldline's operations and product portfolio were fully integrated into Teva's global business.
