Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research

The Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research (GICR) was a non-profit research organization based in Plantation, Florida, dedicated to the study of cancer pathogenesis and the development of novel therapeutics. Founded in 1959, the institute specialized in providing contract research services, particularly in oncology-related animal models and monoclonal antibody production. GICR was well-known for its expertise in developing and maintaining specialized mouse models, including germ-free and immunodeficient strains, for cancer research. In 2014, the institute's assets and operations were integrated into Nova Southeastern University (NSU) to bolster the university's bioscience and cancer research capabilities, eventually becoming part of the NSU Cell Therapy Institute.
