GeoPharma was a specialty pharmaceutical company that focused on the development, manufacturing, and distribution of generic drugs, over-the-counter (OTC) products, and nutritional supplements. The company operated through several subsidiaries, including Innovative Health Products and Belcher Pharmaceuticals, and maintained a pipeline of approximately 12 Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs). Notable products included Carprofen, a generic version of Rimadyl used for veterinary pain management, and Mucotrol, a medical device for treating mouth sores. GeoPharma also engaged in the development of a diagnostic technology for the early detection of ovarian cancer in collaboration with the University of South Florida. The company was publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol GORX before filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010.
