Overview
GPC Biotech was a German biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing novel anti-cancer drugs. Its lead asset, satraplatin, an oral platinum-based chemotherapy agent for hormone-refractory prostate cancer, reached Phase III trials but did not achieve regulatory approval. The pipeline also included monoclonal antibody therapies and multi-targeted kinase inhibitors for various refractory cancers. In November 2009, the company merged with Agennix Incorporated to form Agennix AG. At the time of the merger, none of its products had reached commercialization.
