Granules OmniChem

Granules OmniChem is the former name of an India-based pharmaceutical manufacturing company established in 2011 as a joint venture between Granules India and S.A. Ajinomoto OmniChem. The business focused on development and manufacture of small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients, intermediates, and pharmaceuticals, serving global biopharma customers from its Visakhapatnam, India site. Ajinomoto agreed in August 2019 to acquire the remaining 50% stake, and Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services announced completion of the transaction on June 2, 2020. Following the acquisition, the business began operating as Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services India and became integrated into Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services' global CDMO network. For biotech and pharma analysts, Granules OmniChem is best understood as a historical company name for a now wholly owned Ajinomoto small-molecule CDMO/manufacturing site in India.
