Company intelligence / Profile preview
Great Lakes Health Connect was a Michigan-based nonprofit health information exchange organization that provided health information exchange and health IT services to hospitals, physician practices, and other care organizations. Formed in 2014 through the merger of Michigan Health Connect and Great Lakes Health Information Exchange, it operated one of the largest HIE networks in Michigan, supporting services such as results delivery, laboratory and radiology ordering, referral management, direct secure messaging, admission and discharge notifications, and community health record access. The organization focused on secure exchange of clinical data and care coordination rather than development of therapeutics or medical products. GLHC later entered into a corporate affiliation with Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services and was fully integrated into MiHIN on June 30, 2021, after which GLHC became a legacy/historical brand rather than a standalone operating organization.
