Groton Biosystems was a life science instrumentation company that specialized in automated sampling and analysis solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry. The company's primary focus was on developing systems that integrated bioreactors with analytical instruments to provide real-time monitoring of cell culture and fermentation processes. Their flagship products, such as the 7100 Multi-channel Bio-reactor Sampling system, enabled researchers to automate the collection and preparation of samples, significantly reducing manual labor and improving data accuracy in process development. Groton Biosystems was eventually acquired by YSI (now part of Xylem), where its technology continues to support bioprocess monitoring and control.
