GRUPO ONCOPAZ

Grupo Oncopaz is a Spanish cooperative oncology research group founded in 1988, originating from the Medical Oncology department of Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid. The group serves as a collaborative network for oncologists across Spain to conduct clinical and biological research, specifically focusing on Phase II and III clinical trials for solid tumors. Key areas of expertise include the development of chemotherapy protocols, such as oral fluoropyrimidines (UFT), and the evaluation of targeted therapies in combination with standard care. As a non-profit association, Grupo Oncopaz has played a significant role in advancing evidence-based oncology and palliative care in Spain. The group has collaborated extensively with major pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions to improve treatment outcomes for patients with breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers.
