Guangzhou Xinji Pharmaceutical (also known as Novaken) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company specializing in the development of high-end pharmaceutical formulations and advanced drug delivery systems. Founded in 2007 by Dr. Wu Chuanbin, the company has established two core proprietary technology platforms: a soluble microneedle preparation platform and a nasal inhalation formulation platform. Its lead product, a dexmedetomidine hydrochloride microneedle patch, is the first drug-loaded microneedle patch to receive clinical approval in China and is currently in Phase 2 trials for pediatric preoperative sedation. The company also develops XJN010, a nasal spray for Parkinson's disease "off" periods, and provides CRO services for complex preparations to major pharmaceutical firms. Xinji Pharmaceutical is headquartered in Guangzhou and has recently applied for a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
