Guava Technologies

Guava Technologies was a life science instrumentation company that pioneered the development of microcapillary flow cytometry systems. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Hayward, California, the company focused on making cell analysis more accessible by creating compact, easy-to-use benchtop systems that required significantly less sample and sheath fluid than traditional flow cytometers. Their flagship products, including the Guava Personal Cell Analysis (PCA) and EasyCyte systems, enabled researchers to perform complex assays such as cell counting, viability, and apoptosis at their own lab benches. The company's innovative technology was widely adopted in drug discovery, toxicology, and basic research. In 2009, Guava Technologies was acquired by Millipore Corporation for approximately $22.6 million.
