Gulf Coast Regional Center of Innovation and Commercialization

The Gulf Coast Regional Center of Innovation and Commercialization (GCRCIC) was a Houston-based non-profit organization established to facilitate the commercialization of emerging technologies in the Texas Gulf Coast region. It served as a primary regional screening and mentoring body for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TETF), evaluating early-stage startups in sectors such as life sciences, energy, and information technology. The center provided critical due diligence and advisory services to help companies secure state funding and transition from academic research to the marketplace. While it played a pivotal role in the Texas innovation ecosystem for nearly a decade, its primary functions were phased out following the dissolution of the TETF in 2015. The organization was instrumental in supporting the growth of the Texas Medical Center's entrepreneurial landscape.
