Hankook Shinyak Co., Ltd. is a specialized South Korean pharmaceutical company founded in 1961, focusing on the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of traditional Korean herbal medicines, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, and specialty pharmaceuticals. The company is renowned for being the first in Korea to produce standardized herbal extract formulas and liquid herbal medicines, such as Galgeun-tang and Sipjeondaebo-tang. A key milestone in its research is the development of Mesima (PPLA), a patented, clinically-approved immunoadjuvant and anticancer agent derived from the mycelium of the Phellinus linteus mushroom.
