Hanugen Therapeutics is an Indian biopharmaceutical company focused on developing affordable and accessible oligonucleotide-based therapeutics for rare genetic disorders. Founded in 2017 as a spin-off of the Dystrophy Annihilation Research Trust (DART), the company leverages novel chemistries to alter the RNA transcription process and modify protein structures. Its lead program is an exon-skipping antisense oligonucleotide therapy for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), which is in Phase 2/3 clinical development. Hanugen also has preclinical programs targeting Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and Ataxia telangiectasia, alongside offering custom oligonucleotide synthesis services.
