Company intelligence / Profile preview
Haplotech was a Canadian agricultural biotechnology and plant breeding services company focused on accelerating crop improvement programs for seed developers and breeders. The company provided doubled haploid production, trait integration, marker-assisted selection, and breeding consultation services, with particular capabilities in canola, barley, wheat, and hemp breeding. Founded in 2009 by plant breeder Rale Gjuric, Haplotech operated from Manitoba and built a reputation as an independent technical and consulting provider in seed breeding. In October 2020, Haplotech was acquired by Farmer’s Business Network through its Canadian affiliate as part of a broader push into the Canadian seed market. Although sometimes described on third-party databases as biotechnology-related, it is not a human healthcare, pharma, or life sciences therapeutics company.
