Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians

Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) is one of New England’s largest physician-led organizations, comprising over 2,400 providers across more than a dozen specialties. It delivers clinical care, conducts research, and trains the next generation of healthcare professionals in partnership with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and as faculty for Harvard Medical School. The organization manages both hospital-based and community-based practices throughout eastern Massachusetts.

HMFP does not develop drugs or devices but plays an integral role in advancing medical knowledge through research programs embedded within its departments.

Its emergency medicine network alone manages over 350,000 ED visits annually across multiple hospitals and urgent care centers.

The organization has received recognition for physician well-being initiatives from the American Medical Association.

Recent expansions include integrating Mount Auburn specialty physicians into its network to broaden regional coverage.

As an academic practice group affiliated with BIDMC/Harvard Med School/Beth Israel Lahey Health system (BILH), it supports innovation in patient care delivery models.
