Havenziekenhuis

Havenziekenhuis was a specialized hospital in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with a storied history of providing medical care to seafarers and expertise in tropical medicine. Founded in 1927, it became a part of the Erasmus MC group and was widely recognized for its departments in infectious diseases and travel medicine. In late 2017, the institution ceased its functions as a full-service hospital and transitioned into the Havenpolikliniek, focusing on outpatient services and geriatric care. This transition was part of a regional restructuring to consolidate acute care while maintaining specialized local access for the elderly.
