HCG Diet Direct

HCG Diet Direct was an Arizona-based consumer health company that specialized in the marketing and sale of homeopathic Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) weight-loss products. The company primarily sold oral drops that were marketed as a solution for rapid weight loss when used in conjunction with a restrictive low-calorie diet. In 2014, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) took legal action against the company for making deceptive and scientifically unsupported claims regarding the efficacy of its products. Following a settlement with the FTC, which included a significant monetary judgment and prohibitions on future deceptive marketing, the company ceased its primary operations. The FDA has also issued warnings that over-the-counter HCG products for weight loss are illegal and fraudulent.
