Health Innovation Network

The Health Innovation Network is the national innovation arm of the NHS in England, comprising 15 regional networks that facilitate the adoption and spread of healthcare innovations. Originally established in 2013 as Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs), the organization was rebranded in 2023 to better reflect its role in driving the uptake of health and care innovations across the country. The network acts as a bridge between the NHS, industry, academia, and local government to accelerate the spread of proven technologies and clinical practices. Its core mission is to improve patient outcomes, enhance NHS efficiency, and foster economic growth within the UK life sciences sector. Key initiatives include the Innovation Exchange, which supports innovators in navigating the NHS, and national programs targeting specific health challenges such as cardiovascular disease and mental health.
