HealthAmerica was a prominent health insurance and managed care provider that primarily served the Pennsylvania and Ohio markets. The company offered a comprehensive range of health benefit plans, including Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO), and Medicare Advantage products for individuals and employer groups. Originally operating as an independent regional health plan, it became a key subsidiary of Coventry Health Care. In 2013, following Aetna's acquisition of Coventry, HealthAmerica's operations were integrated into Aetna's national infrastructure. The brand has since been retired as part of the broader consolidation under Aetna and its parent company, CVS Health.
