Healthcare Anchor Network

Healthcare Anchor Network is a U.S. nonprofit collaboration of more than 70 health systems that helps member institutions use their hiring, purchasing, investing, and workforce practices to improve community health and local economic conditions. Rather than developing therapeutics, HAN supports hospitals and health systems in adopting an "anchor mission" approach that aligns institutional operations with goals such as health equity, community wealth building, affordable housing, and workforce development. The organization provides strategic support, peer learning, research, implementation resources, and structured commitments in areas including impact purchasing, place-based investing, and workforce initiatives. HAN operates as an active healthcare-sector implementation and policy network rather than a biotech, pharma, or drug-development company.
