Healthpoint, also known as Healthpoint Biotherapeutics, was a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of advanced wound care and dermatology products. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, the company established itself as a leader in the enzymatic debridement market with its flagship product, Santyl Ointment. In addition to its commercial portfolio, Healthpoint developed innovative cell-based therapies and bioactive technologies for chronic wound healing. The company operated as a division of DFB Pharmaceuticals until it was acquired by Smith & Nephew in 2012 for $782 million. This acquisition significantly expanded Smith & Nephew's advanced wound management business by integrating Healthpoint's specialized biologics and sales force.
