Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation

The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF) is a CEO-led non-profit organization and coalition of over 300 retailers, food and beverage manufacturers, and non-governmental organizations. Launched in 2009, the foundation's primary mission is to help reduce childhood obesity in the United States by promoting healthy lifestyles through physical activity and nutrition education. A hallmark of the organization was its 2010 commitment to remove 1.5 trillion calories from the U.S. marketplace by 2015, a goal it significantly exceeded according to independent evaluations. HWCF operates the 'Together Counts' program, which provides resources for schools and families to promote the concept of energy balance. The foundation focuses its efforts across three key pillars: the marketplace, the workplace, and the classroom.
