Company intelligence / Profile preview
Heart Rhythm Technology (HRT) was a pioneering medical device company specializing in the electrophysiology market, specifically the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Originally acquired by Eli Lilly in 1992, it became one of the five core operating units of Guidant Corporation upon its spin-off in 1994. The company developed advanced intracardiac mapping systems and ablation catheters that enabled electrophysiologists to visualize and treat complex heart rhythm disorders with high precision. Following the acquisition of Guidant by Boston Scientific in 2006, HRT's technologies were integrated into Boston Scientific's broader cardiac rhythm management portfolio.
