Company intelligence / Profile preview
Heinz India was the Indian subsidiary of the Kraft Heinz Company, primarily operating in the consumer wellness and nutritional food segments. In early 2019, the company was acquired by Zydus Wellness, a subsidiary of the pharmaceutical giant Zydus Lifesciences, in a deal valued at approximately $625 million. The acquisition included iconic consumer health brands such as Complan, a nutritional milk drink, and Glucon-D, a leading glucose-based energy drink. Other brands involved in the transition were Nycil, a medicated prickly heat powder, and Sampriti Ghee. This strategic move allowed Zydus to significantly scale its presence in the healthcare and wellness market in India. The business is now fully integrated into the Zydus Wellness portfolio.
