HemaFresh

Nohla Therapeutics, originally founded as HemaFresh, was a clinical-stage biotechnology company that developed off-the-shelf, universal donor cell therapies for patients with hematologic malignancies and other critical conditions. The company's proprietary platform utilized Notch-mediated expansion technology to produce hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells from umbilical cord blood. Its lead candidate, dilanubicel (NLA101), was evaluated in Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials to reduce infection and improve recovery in patients undergoing cord blood transplantation. Despite achieving significant clinical milestones, Nohla Therapeutics ceased operations in 2019 due to funding difficulties, and its assets were subsequently acquired by Deverra Therapeutics.
