HemaX Genome

HemaX Genome Inc. was a Canadian biotechnology company specializing in the discovery of therapeutic targets for hematopoiesis and immunological disorders. Based in Montreal, the company utilized genomic and proteomic approaches to identify novel genes and proteins, such as the Cytokine Receptor Common Gamma Chain Like (CRCGCL), for the treatment of autoimmune and hematological diseases. The company's research was closely linked to academic institutions, including the University of Montreal and Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. In 2005, HemaX Genome was acquired by Emerillon Therapeutics Inc., a spin-off of Xenon Pharmaceuticals, to combine their respective drug discovery programs. This acquisition aimed to leverage HemaX's expertise in immunology and hematology alongside Emerillon's focus on neurology and pain.
