Overview

HemoClear has developed and commercialized a CE-marked, ISO 13485–certified microfiltration device for autologous blood transfusion and bedside plasmapheresis. It is used to process shed blood or donor blood into platelet-rich or plasma components at the bedside, including in low-resource settings. A prospective clinical trial in Suriname demonstrated that the membrane-based HemoClear device can safely and effectively obtain convalescent plasma for COVID-19 treatment in a low- to middle-income country setting.[1][2][7]
