Hemotec Medical

Hemotek Medical is a private U.S. medical device company developing safety solutions for hemodialysis. Its lead product, the V Needle, is a proprietary disposable venous needle intended to detect venous needle dislodgement and trigger dialysis machine shutoff to reduce blood-loss events. The company positions the device as a low-cost, easy-to-use, fully mechanical solution that does not require added electronics, batteries, or separate monitoring hardware. Hemotek was founded by biomedical engineers and physicians and has funded development in part through U.S. government SBIR grants. The V Needle is not yet FDA approved and is not yet commercially available.
