Company intelligence / Profile preview
HepaSense Ltd. was a biopharmaceutical joint venture established in 2000 by Isis Pharmaceuticals (now Ionis Pharmaceuticals) and Elan Corporation to develop antisense drugs for chronic Hepatitis C. The company's primary focus was the clinical development of ISIS 14803, a first-generation antisense inhibitor of the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). Following Elan's restructuring and withdrawal from the partnership in 2002, Isis reacquired full rights to the lead candidate. Isis eventually acquired Elan's remaining interest in 2004 and dissolved the HepaSense entity in 2005.
