Hibernaid, Inc.

Hibernaid has developed HBN‑1, an intravenous combination drug that induces regulated hypothermia for acute-care indications such as post-cardiac arrest and neurological injuries. The company was IND-ready as of late 2019 and planned a Phase 1 study at the University of Pittsburgh. Some sepsis/septic shock programs appear discontinued at the preclinical stage as of August 2023. The lead program is unique in being a pharmacological method to induce therapeutic hypothermia—a treatment recommended by the American Heart Association for resuscitated cardiac arrest patients. Over $4M in funding has been raised from founders and NIH grants.
