Holigen

Holigen was a private medical cannabis company focused on the cultivation, manufacture, and distribution of EU-GMP medicinal cannabis products for international markets. The company developed a vertically integrated operating platform centered on Portuguese cultivation and GMP-compliant production assets, including premium indoor and large-scale outdoor capacity. Holigen was positioned as a seed-to-patient medical cannabis supplier serving Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and other legal global markets. In May 2022, Holigen was acquired by Akanda from The Flowr Corporation, and its Portuguese operating asset RPK Biopharma was later sold by Akanda to SOMAÍ Pharmaceuticals in 2024. Holigen appears to persist mainly as a historical/corporate holding identity rather than as an independent operating company today.
